Bellflower, CA Real Estate

home buyersThe city of Bellflower was incorporated on September 3, 1957. It is the 25th largest city in Los Angeles County. Like many cities across the United States, it has seen many changes since its incorporation. As of 2007, over 3,000 businesses operate within the city limits of Bellflower.

It takes approximately 25 minutes, using I-605 to reach I-5, then picking up US 101, to travel the approximately 20 miles from this bustling suburb to the City of Los Angeles itself. For this reason, the many amenities and venues for entertainment, dining, and other forms of recreation that are available in Los Angeles are only a short drive away for the residents of Bellflower.

Its proximity to Los Angeles is not the only thing Bellflower has in its favor, however. There are a number of single and multi-family residences from which to choose from. These include small apartment buildings boasting no more than four to six units, with moderate rental rates. Some of these units were built as far back as 1929, but have since been updated and renovated so as to offer all the modern conveniences, and conform with all current building and housing codes.

Single-family residences range from moderately priced, small to mid-size homes built in the 1980s and before, to larger, upscale homes, some of which are barely a year old. The architecture ranges from Spanish-style designs, which include homes that sport beautiful, elaborate arches, to the flat-roofed, square-shaped homes that are attractive in their own right.

Bellflower’s education system offers many diverse options for those who have school-age children. The Bellflower Unified School District has eleven elementary schools, and three middle and high schools. Those who prefer to send their children to a Catholic parochial school can send their children to St. Bernard Elementary School from kindergarten until the eight grade, then on to St. John Bosco High School for their ninth grade to twelfth grade education.

Valley Christian School offers those who want to provide their children with a faith-based education the opportunity to do that. It allows children to enter the school at grade K-3 and, if so desired, to attend the school until the graduate from the twelfth grade.
