Canyon Country, CA Real Estate

home buyersCanyon Country is one of the four communities-Valencia, Newhall, Saugus and Canyon Country-that merged in 1987 to form what is now the City of Santa Clarita. Each community still exists and each has its own uniqueness, although all are considered part of the City of Santa Clarita.

Canyon Country is centrally located. Within the community itself and up to 10 miles beyond are six golf courses-some individual properties; others part of a country club properties, two amusement parks (Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor), a family fun center and a historic train station and museum.

Home designs range from "typical" American ranch-style, French, Tuscan or even a home with a decidedly Tudor castle flair. Prices are moderate for "simpler" homes to somewhat more expensive for those boasting more "unique" architecture.

There are also two 10-unit condominium properties located in Canyon Country. All units are two-bedroom located side-to-side. There are no single apartments and the units are not rent-controlled. This makes Canyon Country the perfect place for the folks just starting out.

Nine elementary schools, one middle and one high school provide children with public education. Those residents wishing to send their children to private schools can choose Santa Clarita Christian School. Students in Grades K-8 can also attend Pinecrest School.
