Carson, CA Real Estate

The City of Carson was incorporated on April 4, 1968. This gives the city the distinction of being the youngest municipality in South Bay, which is a region of Greater Los Angeles. A short drive down US-101 to I-110, which turns into CA-110, will take you to Carson and the Home Depot Center. This is a stadium that was built specifically for soccer. The stadium is used by the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team, the Chivas USA teams and is also a training ground for the US Soccer Team. The complex also has a tennis stadium and a track and field facility. The Los Angeles Riptide, a lacrosse team, holds its games here.

There is also a landing pad for the Spirit of America Goodyear blimp at the Home Depot Center. Carson is considered the "home base" for this particular one of three active Goodyear blimps. When the Spirit of America is not being used at a sports or other event, it is docked here. If you time your visit to Carson right, you may get an up-close view of an airship that you usually only get to see floating high over a stadium or other venue.

Carson's location makes it easy to travel to and from the City of Los Angeles. For this reason, many people who work in Los Angeles choose Carson as their "home base." And, it's no wonder, with so many single-family homes to choose from, in architectural styles ranging from modern/contemporary to the very popular ranch-style.

Apartment living in Carson is available in traditional complexes, some of which offer special amenities to their tenants such as on-site laundry facilities, swimming pools and activity centers. However, many single-family homes in Carson also have guesthouses, some of which are attached to the main dwelling. Others are detached or separate residences located on the property.

In addition, many single-family homes in Carson have additional living areas inside the home. These areas are "self-contained," (think a house within a house), usually with a separate entrance than that of the main house and can be rented out providing the homeowner with a second income.

Carson Street Elementary School, Caroldale Avenue Elementary School, Andrew Carnegie Middle School, Stephen M. White Middle School and Carson High School serve the parts of Carson that are within the Los Unified School District. Other portions of Carson are zoned for schools served by the Compton Unified School District. There are also several faith-based private schools located in Carson.
