Castaic is an unincorporated community in Los Angeles County. Access to the "City" (Los Angeles, that is) is via I-5 South, CA-110S and US-101N. The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority also provides "Metrolink" service between Castaic and Los Angeles.

All these transportation options provide you with easy access not only to Los Angeles itself, but you are also only minutes away from Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park. You and your family can have a "screaming" good time on all the roller coasters and rides, then take a stroll through the park, where souvenirs and food (if your stomach has settled enough, that is) can be purchased.

Those who prefer things a little more sedate and relaxing can visit the beautiful Santa Clarita Valley with its breathtaking views that can be seen from one of the hiking, biking or horseback trails that wind through the valley and into the surrounding hills. In addition, Castaic Lake and Pyramid offer many opportunities for water sports, including boating, swimming and fishing.

The fact that Castaic has both easy freeway access and Metrolink facilities makes Castaic a good place to live. Single-family residences are plentiful, in price ranges to suit any budget or income. Homes with Mediterranean architectural designs, as well as modern and contemporary styles are available. One can even own a beautiful estate home. A small number of condominium units are also available for sale or rent. These are located in the back of a small complex that is considered "gated" property.

The Castaic Union School District serves the community of Castaic. There are three elementary schools-Castaic Elementary (K-4), Liveoak Elementary (K-5) and Northlake Elementary (K-5); one middle school (Castaic Middle School and two high schools-West Ranch or Valencia. Students attend the elementary and high school for which they are zoned; all students attend the middle school during the 6th through 9th grades. Stone Canyon Christian Academy offers private school education for children in Grades 1-5; First Baptist Christian Academy is a K-12 private school.
