Fillmore, CA Real Estate

Located in Ventura County, CA, Fillmore is part of the historic Heritage Valley. The City was incorporated on July 10, 1914. Fillmore blends farming and small industry with its historical elements.

For all its "country charm," however, Fillmore is not isolated from the larger city of Los Angeles. In fact, a short drive on CA-126E to I-5S will bring you to CA-110S, where you can access US-101S, which takes you straight on into Los Angeles. If you don't want to drive, take advantage of one of the Park-and-Ride lots located close to Fillmore that provide you access to the transportation provided by the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority.

Fillmore is located at the edge of the Las Padre National Forest, which is a beautiful part of Heritage Valley. In Fillmore proper, you can enjoy a dinner train excursion on the Fillmore and Western Railway, known as the "home of the move trains." Before or after your train trip, you browse through one of the many antique stores located in the downtown area.

Single-family homes in Fillmore are plentiful. Many of these homes are designed in the lovely Craftsman architectural style. Craftsman-style homes have peaked roofs. In some homes, the roof peaks only once, but in others, the roof may peak three or four times, with some flat areas in between. There are also some Craftsman-style houses have porches. Some porches may run the entire length of the front of the house from corner to corner, while others wrap around the sides of the house.

San Cayetano Elementary, Piru Elementary and Mountain Vista Elementary schools are the three public elementary schools in Fillmore. Fillmore Middle School serves the middle grades; Fillmore High and Fillmore Community High School house the higher grades. There is also a private school in Fillmore. It is operated by Fillmore Bible Church and is located on that church's campus.
