Then, drive or use the Gardena Municipal Bus line and its connections to visit one of the two casinos that operate within the City. Then, make your way back to Los Angeles to enjoy all that the "big city" has to offer.

Becuase of Gardena's proxmity to Los Angeles, many people choose to live in Gardena. Single-family homes in the area are for the most part moderately-priced and boast a modern/contemporary architectural style. In addition, there are multi-family structures, mostly apartment units that can be rented. Some of the units are very small, having only four or five apartments available; others are the larger "complex-type" units.

Nine public schools and five private Elementary schools are located in Gardena. In addition to that, the City operates a Family Child Care program and three Japanese Language schools. Further, one of the Elementary schools is a "Tri-Lingual Magnet." Children attending this school are taught in Japanese, English and Spanish. One of the elementary schools is a "bilingual magnet;" children learn Korean and English at this school. A Math-Science program is available at Gardena's Peary Middle School.

Older students can attend Southern California International Business Academy is Gardena High School, as well as a Foreign Language (in this case, French-Spanish-Japanese) magnet program. Gardena also boasts the distinction of having the highly respected Sierra Private High School and the Selery School for Special Education both in its city.
