Mid Wilshire, CA Real Estate

The Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles is that part of the city that is located along Wilshire Boulevard. The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority's "Big Blue Bus" takes one directly to the Mid-Wilshire District from points in and around Los Angeles, so there is no need (unless you absolutely want to) to drive to the area. Wilshire Boulevard is considered the "main drag" through the Mid-Wilshire area. For this reason, it is a very busy, very high-traffic part of Los Angeles.

The Mid-Wilshire area prides itself on providing several venues for those who are in the music business to perform concerts. No matter what type of music you like, you can probably find a show going on almost any night (or possibly day) of the week. In addition, it has a comedy club, several different restaurants, serving practically every type of food you could possibly imagine, and lots of vintage clothing stores. One can truly say that this area has something for every person of almost every age.

Those who choose in one of the many single-family homes located in the Mid-Wilshire area --- several of which are built in the Mediterranean style of architectural design --- often invest in gates or fences on their property boundaries. These structures serve to keep traffic on Wilshire Boulevard, and eliminate (or at least drastically reduce) the temptation to use the streets in the residential areas as a "short cut" from one point in Los Angeles to another. This gives the residents the added benefit of increased safety and security.

There are also condominium units in the Mid-Wilshire area, but the most unusual multi-family property is a 13-room boarding home that is still in operation. In fact, the home is usually almost completely occupied, and vacancies, when they do occur, are quickly filled, as the residence is considered a very popular place to live.

Children who live in the Mid-Wilshire district attend one of nine elementary schools, ten middle schools and three high schools that serve the area. The highly respected, well-known Jesuit Loyola High School is also located in Mid-Wilshire. This is a young-men only college preparatory high school, serving male students in Grades 9-12. There are two other private schools available for those who wish to provide their students with a private school education, they are Mid-Wilshire Christian School and Page Private School.
