Newhall, CA Real Estate

Newhall is considered part of the City of Santa Clarita, CA. This occurred in 1987, when Newhall, Valencia, Canyon Country, and Saugus all came together to form the City of Santa Clarita. Other areas in close geographical proximity were also included in this merger.

Newhall is best known as being the home of William S. Hart. Mr. Hart was a silent movie actor, who played mostly cowboy roles, before becoming a silent movie maker himself. His mansion is open for tours today, and is located in what is now William S. Hart County Park. Old Town Newhall is a project conceived in 2006, and is currently still in the development and implementation phase.

Plans are to turn what is currently San Fernando Road into a "Main Street", that would allow for vehicular traffic, but would also encourage pedestrian traffic as well. In addition, residences, light industrial, retail, and other businesses would be incorporated into the 120 acres that has been set aside for this project. It is estimated to be completed within ten to fifteen years.

Single-family homes in Newhall are very affordable, and located in several different areas of Newhall. One such area is the Stevenson Ranch neighborhood. It is an extremely nice place to live and there are many modern/contemporary-style houses available and just waiting for the right person or family to move in.

There are also town homes and condominium properties available. Unit sizes range from smaller ones, for those who prefer a few neighbors, to larger ones, for those who like to live around lots of people. There will, of course, be other residences available as the Old Town Newhall plan continues to near completion.

Newhall has five elementary schools, a junior-high school (yes, it is referred to as a junior-high school, not a middle school) and a high school. Two private schools are also located in Newhall. One serves Grades PK-8 only; the other one has facilities for children in Grades 1-12.
