North Hollywood, CA Real Estate

home buyersNorth Hollywood is a district of Los Angeles. The "North Hollywood" designation actually refers to the combined Universal City/North Hollywood area. The Chamber of Commerce has begun calling this particular location the "NoHo" district. It is hoping that this moniker will become widely used by everyone when referring to this district.

North Hollywood has a rather unusual attraction--a number of bronze statues. One can see life-size images of Lucille Ball, Johnny Carson, and the 40' gold Emmy statue, among others. There is also a statue of Amelia Earhart. This statue is located in North Hollywood Park.

Single-family homes in this district are also different from those in surrounding areas. Many of them are built in the style of homes such as those which would be found in the Nantucket/New England area of the country; others are reminiscent of the traditional "country farmhouse" look.

This district has begun to see, and subsequently promote, "loft" living. The word "loft" refers to upper floors of high-rise buildings that have been converted, or built for the express purpose of being used, for living space. The lower floors of the buildings are used is in the normal manner as office buildings, retail space, or other commercial ventures. Loft living can be considered a great investment for those who are able to work and live in the same physical space.

Thirteen elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools serve those school-age children who live in North Hollywood. Additionally, the Montessori Academy of North Hollywood provides its own style of education for students in Grades 1-4; the Hollywood Education and Literacy Institute provides classes for students in Grades 3-9, and the Hollywood Schoolhouse can support students in Grades PK-8.
