home buyersPalms is a neighborhood located on what is considered the Westside of Los Angeles, just north of Culver City. The area is home Museum of Jurassic Technology. The museum of is an educational institution dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and the public appreciation of the Lower Jurassic.

The Palms district is home to more than 40,000 residents. Since the mid 1990s, Palms has seen an upturn in its fortunes, with the revival of Culver City's adjacent downtown adding new life to the area. The district's diversity, affordability, and central location have made it an appealing center for young professionals seeking alternatives to traffic-choked Westwood and Santa Monica, but still wanting to live in a diverse urban setting in a neighborhood relatively close to the beach.

The Westside Village district of Palms is considered fairly upscale. Most of these homes were built before World War II, by developer Fritz Burns. At the time, they were built "assembly-line" style; however, most of the original structures have been remodeled or expanded, or replaced completely by larger homes, predominantly two-story. Apartment buildings line all of the major thoroughfares in Palms, even those that run through Westside Village. These complexes include two that are used as UCLA family and graduate-student housing.

The area of Palms that is considered the historic district is composed almost completely of apartment buildings and complexes. More than ninety percent of the residents in this area rent, rather than own, their living places. Many of the residents include students from Santa Monica College, UCLA, and USC.

Younger children are served by four elementary schools, a middle school and two high schools serve Palms. There are also a number of private and parochial schools located here. These schools are part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
