Rancho Palos Verdes, CA Real Estate

home buyersRedondo Beach, incorporated April 29, 1892, is one of three "beach cities". Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach are the other two. It is located in Los Angeles County, and is accessible to Los Angeles by I-110 (which becomes CA-110) and US-101S. Besides being a "beach city", which, naturally, means that it is going to have a beach, Redondo Beach also hosts a Farmer's Market every Thursday of the year, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Pacific time). The market is located in front of Veteran's Park in the city. You can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, and stroll among the many booths offering different articles for sale. You never know what unique treasures you might find. Redondo Beach is divided into two distinct neighborhoods. They are known as South Redondo Beach and North Redondo Beach. South Redondo Beach is closer to the beach itself; therefore, the homes located in that area are going to be more expensive than those in North Redondo Beach. North Redondo Beach, however, is where most of the city's children live (with their parents, of course). It is further away from the beach, but is still a very nice section in which to live. The homes are mostly older, but still very attractive. Zoning allows properties within two to three blocks of the beach to be developed as large two to three-unit luxury town home communities, while the inland areas are more likely to have single-family homes. Additionally, there is a citywide height limit of 32 feet for new homes. Because of this, Redondo Beach allows rooftop living spaces and decks, something that you cannot have in neighboring Manhattan Beach. Many of the streets in Redondo Beach are one-way, so you have to pay careful attention if you are not familiar with the area. Just watch and see which way the traffic is going, and go that direction, also, and you should be fine. Redondo Beach has six elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools. One of the high schools is a continuation school. This means that students who, for one reason or another, may be in a situation to where there is a chance they may not graduate from a "regular" high school can still get a high-school diploma. A continuation high school offers the same courses and students must meet the same requirements as for a regular high school, but scheduling is such that students can earn the needed credit quicker.
